Parent Hub Privacy Notice
British Learning Centre (“BLC”, “we”) respects your family’s privacy. This notice explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect when you use a My Child account, why we collect it, and the rights you and your child have under Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019) (“PDPA”).
Who is responsible for your data
British Learning Centre is the data controller. Questions or requests: info@britishlearningcentre.com
What we collect
We deliberately collect as little as possible.
About you (the parent/guardian): your email address (to log you in and send results) and your preferred language.
About your child: a nickname (not their full name), their year group (not their date of birth), and their assessment results (which check, the score, the level awarded, and the date).
We do not collect your child’s full name, date of birth, address, phone number, photograph, school name, or any health information. We do not use advertising trackers or build marketing profiles.
Why we collect it, and our lawful basis
- To let you see your child’s learning progress — with your consent, given as the parent (PDPA s.20).
- To log you in securely without a password — our legitimate interest in account security.
- To send you results and account emails — with your consent.
Your child does not have their own account and never logs in. You hold the account and consent on their behalf.
How your child’s results reach the Hub
When your child completes a free BLC assessment, the result is recorded in our existing system and a copy is added to your Hub account. You choose which results belong to your child by claiming them in the app.
Who else processes the data
We use two trusted providers, acting only on our instructions: Cloudflare, Inc. (securely hosts the Hub and its database) and Google (Google Workspace) (records results and sends your login emails). They may process data on servers outside Thailand under recognised safeguards.
How long we keep it
- Login links: deleted the moment you use them, or within 15 minutes.
- Your account and your child’s results: kept while your account is open. If you delete a child or your account, the data is permanently deleted.
- Proof of consent: a minimal record (no email) is kept up to one year after deletion, for legal accountability.
Your rights (PDPA)
At any time, for yourself and your child, you can: see all data we hold; correct your child’s nickname or year group; delete a child or your whole account; withdraw consent; get a portable copy of your data; and object to or restrict our use of it. Use the controls in the app or email info@britishlearningcentre.com. You may also complain to Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC).
Keeping data safe
We use passwordless login, encrypted connections, single-use login links, and store only the minimum data. If a breach ever posed a high risk to you, we would notify you and the authorities as required by law.
